Spider Egg Cluster
Spider Egg Clusters are naturally generating structures that serve as underground spider nurseries. These mysterious formations consist of patches of Spider Moss with Spider Eggs nestled on top, surrounded by scattered Spider Egg Shells that cling to nearby cave walls and surfaces.
Generation
Spider Egg Clusters generate naturally underground in cave systems throughout any Overworld biome. They are typically found in:
- Cave systems at various depths underground
- Natural caverns with sufficient space for the cluster to form
These clusters are relatively uncommon, making them a notable discovery for cave explorers. The formation appears to be the result of spiders establishing breeding grounds in secluded underground locations.
Structure
The foundation of each cluster is formed by patches of Spider Moss, which creates a suitable environment for the spider eggs to develop.
Multiple Spider Eggs are positioned on top of the Spider Moss patches. These eggs will naturally hatch over time when the chunks remain loaded, spawning spiderlings that emerge from the nest. Some eggs may have protective spiders nearby that guard the cluster.
Scattered around the perimeter of the cluster, Spider Egg Shells can be found attached to cave walls and surfaces. These originate from the past Spider Eggs that may have broken or hatched.
